The return of iconic North Wales forest stages and a thrilling three-way battle between Osian Pryce, Meirion Evans and Max McRae for the British Rally Championship title promise to make this year’s Cambrian Rally one of the most exciting in recent memory.

The stage locations for the compact route, include three stages in the Gwydir Forest complex which haven’t been used since 2019, and parts of Hiraethog.

Max McRae heads to the Cambrian Rally with the British Rally Championship crown within touching distance, and the chance to write the next chapter of one of rallying’s most famous family stories.

After five dramatic rounds, the 2026 Motorsport UK British Rally Championship arrives at the Lewis & Hunter Cambrian Rally with three drivers still in contention for the coveted crown, Max McRae, Osian Pryce and Meirion Evans. And for McRae, the prize carries an added significance.

Victory in North Wales would make the 22-year-old the first McRae to lift the British Rally Championship title since his father, Alister, claimed the crown in 1995; 31 years after that Nissan Sunny GTi success.

Osian Pryce heads to the Cambrian Rally with one final opportunity to turn a season of pace and drama into a second British Rally Championship title.

The 33-year-old started the season as one of the championship’s established title favourites and has already demonstrated exactly why, taking victories on both the opening Severn Valley Stages and the Grampian Forest Rally. But after a dramatic twist in Ceredigion, he finds himself in a three-way battle for the title.

Pryce returned to the Castrol MEM Rally Team for 2026 alongside James Morgan, the pairing reunited with a clear objective: fight for the British Rally Championship crown. And fight they have, overcoming a disappointing Ceredigion Sunday to be in with an equal chance of the title.

Meirion Evans has quietly built one of the strongest campaigns of the 2026 British Rally Championship, and now the Welshman stands one rally away from the biggest prize of his career.

There was never supposed to be anything quiet about the 2026 British Rally Championship, but while the headlines have often belonged to Osian Pryce’s and Max McRae’s victories, Meirion Evans has gone about his business in a rather different way: consistency.

But it’s that consistency that has put him right in the middle of the title fight, and after taking a spectacular win on Sunday at Rali Ceredigion, with a pace that challenged the visiting ERC regulars, he is now one of the hottest prospects to become British Rally Champion.
